The last chord of the concerto faded, leaving a silence that was immediately broken by thunderous applause. The concert hall buzzed with energy. His fingers ached, but his heart soared. He had poured his entire soul into the piece. His eyes scanned the crowd, seeking specific reactions.

A woman with a diamond necklace approached him, her face creased with annoyance. "The rehearsal was atrocious, you know. The noise was distracting me while reading."

He simply smiled and bowed, gesturing towards the music sheet. "I believe the performance speaks for itself, madam." He watched her face as she looked back at him.
