He was cleaning, a chore he rarely did, and that’s when he found it, the notebook in the desk drawer. The title, “The Astronomer’s Light,” was the only thing written on the cover. He flipped through the pages. The first chapter described her, her love for science, her thirst for knowledge, her brilliant mind. A warmth spread through him, a feeling of…contentment.

He felt a sudden rush of energy and cleaned the whole house. He felt the need to make everything perfect.

When she came home, she found the house spotless, and a single red rose on the table.
