Gemotions

He ran his hands over the smooth surface of the weathered metal, a grin plastered across his face. The afternoon sun warmed his back as he pulled the box from its earthy grave. This was it, the culmination of a years-long search. He'd been sure it existed, somewhere in the overgrown backyard.

The lock, surprisingly, gave way easily. Inside, nestled amongst the decaying remnants of the past, was a letter. He remembered the feeling he'd had as a child, that he was going to save this letter for the world to see in the future.

He took a deep breath, the air filling his lungs. He was going to spend the rest of the day looking through the treasures inside. He would let his friends know of his triumph immediately. This secret, this accomplishment, was all his.
