The weight on Arthur’s shoulders lifted. The small, unassuming notice, taped to the bulletin board, was a revelation. It was happening. His intuition had been correct.

He'd kept his thoughts to himself, the feeling building in his chest. He hadn’t told anyone, but he'd known. A quiet thrill ran through him, a feeling of deep internal reward.

He picked up his phone and called his daughter. He would be able to leave her something nice, after all. He was, finally, sure of that.
