Gemotions

The plans were spread across the kitchen table, blueprints and diagrams. My head throbbed. I’d reread them a dozen times, each time finding myself more…disoriented. The fence was perfectly legal, adhering to all codes. There was nothing to stop it.

I ran a hand through my hair, feeling the strands twist around my fingers. The layout was clear enough, but…why *here*? Why *now*?

I paced the kitchen, my steps erratic and uneven, as though I was navigating a maze. I stopped by the window and looked out at the garden I'd cultivated. The vegetables, the herbs. Soon, it would be cut off.
