"No, I don't understand," Emily repeated, her voice barely a whisper. The professor, a man she’d always respected, was explaining the situation, pointing to the offending passages in her paper. The words swam before her eyes. The accusation stung.

She fiddled with the strap of her backpack, her fingers clumsy and unresponsive. The classroom, once a place of learning and excitement, now felt like a prison. The air was thick, heavy with judgment. She felt a strange tingling sensation in her hands.

She wanted to scream, to defend herself, but the words wouldn’t come. Instead, a wave of confusion washed over her, leaving her feeling disoriented and lost. Her head ached.
