Gemotions

The morning sun cast long shadows as Eleanor stepped out, expecting to grab her usual coffee run. The driveway, however, was empty. Her heart lurched. Where was it? She did a quick scan of the street, then back at her own house. It had been parked right there, facing the garage.

A cold prickle ran down her spine. The keys were in her pocket, the doors locked. Had someone, somehow, driven off with it? Impossible. She squinted, running her hand through her hair. Why would it be gone?

"Well, this is just great," she muttered to herself, her voice a low, confused murmur. She reached for her phone, a knot forming in her stomach.
