The silence of the driveway was deafening. Michael ran his hand over the empty space, as if trying to conjure the car back into existence. It was gone.

He frowned, his face a mask of uncertainty. He knew he'd parked it there. He remembered it clearly. The thought of it not being there made no sense.

He stood for a long moment, simply staring at the vacant spot. A confusing feeling started to build in his chest, a sense of being out of sync with reality. The keys remained in his pocket, a stark reminder of the car's vanishing.
