The email notification had popped up while he was enjoying his morning coffee. Now, Liam sat hunched over his phone, the screen reflecting the harsh glare of the morning sun. The subject line: "Your diary is online!" He’d written a diary during his teenage years, but thought he had locked it away forever.

A strange buzzing sound filled his ears, and he felt a pressure build behind his eyes. He leaned back in his chair, trying to take a deep breath. He ran a hand across his forehead. His skin felt clammy.

He couldn't understand how this could have happened. He found himself staring blankly at the wall, as if expecting an answer to materialize before him.
