"This can't be right," she muttered, staring at the empty parking lot. The venue, a charming little bistro, was dark, the windows reflecting the streetlights. She’d meticulously arranged the entire event, from the floral arrangements to the personalized party favors. A sinking feeling crept into her chest. She reached for her phone, scrolling through her contact list, her fingers fumbling over the screen. It was as if someone had pulled the rug out from under her, leaving her suspended in mid-air.
