The wallpaper peeled back with unexpected ease, revealing a dark, rectangular void. A chill snaked up Amelia's spine, despite the summer heat. She’d been expecting a simple fix to the slightly warped wall in the guest bedroom. Now, staring into the inky blackness, she felt a strange prickling sensation at the back of her neck. "Hello?" she called out, her voice thin in the suddenly silent room. No response. She reached for the flashlight she kept in her toolbox, her hand trembling slightly.

The beam of light danced across rough-hewn wooden planks. It was a room, undeniably. Small, maybe six feet by eight. The air inside seemed heavy, thick with the scent of dust and something else, something metallic. Her eyebrows furrowed as she stepped closer, her heart beginning to thump an erratic rhythm against her ribs. What could it possibly be?
