"Well, this is unexpected," Clara muttered, staring at the small, intricately drawn picture that had fallen out of *Pride and Prejudice*. She had been happily lost in the world of Bennet sisters, but now, her immersion was shattered. The artwork, a vibrant watercolor, depicted a woman standing beside a tall, skeletal tree, beneath a sky streaked with crimson and gold.

She couldn’t understand the image, and a strange prickling sensation crawled up her spine. The colors, so bright, seemed to mock her. She carefully turned the drawing over, searching for a signature, a date, anything. There was nothing.

Clara leaned back in her chair, a sigh escaping her lips. The drawing was so beautifully done, yet the artist was a mystery. She was now left completely perplexed, and she began turning the book's pages, looking for some other clue that could illuminate this unusual piece of art.
