Gemotions

The silence in the dorm room was deafening. Sarah chewed on her lip, a habit she’d broken years ago, and fiddled with the strap of her backpack. The air hung heavy with a strange tension. She and Chloe, her roommate, had been friends since freshman year, but something felt different now. She found her journal out on the desk, with the corner folded down. It was almost a coincidence that it was in the corner of the one page that she left blank, but she found it strange that she could recall the blank page at all.
