Gemotions

The removal van idled at the curb. Clara watched the movers carry her mother's belongings out of the house, each object a piece of the puzzle. Her own belongings were already packed away, ready to be stored, like another part of the story. She ran her fingers across her forehead, her gaze drifting. The house seemed strangely diminished. Was it because it was empty, or because she was looking at it from a new perspective? She didn't understand why the feeling of this place felt different than it had before.
