He stared at the two flyers side-by-side, each announcing a party, both on the first of June. Daniel's, a boisterous karaoke night. Noah's, a sophisticated jazz evening. And the worst part? Both planned on the exact same date. A strange unease had settled in the pit of his stomach.

His normally steady hands trembled slightly as he picked up the flyer from the table. He'd confided in Noah about his karaoke plans weeks ago. Now, the thought of attendees having to choose between the two events produced a discomfort he could not name.
