The door clicked shut, the sound oddly loud in the hallway. Mark ran a hand through his hair, over and over, feeling the scalp prickle. He had just come from Professor Evans' office, where a curt announcement was posted. His heart thudded in his chest. He felt a profound sense of disorientation, the ground shifting beneath him. He looked at his watch, not sure what to do next. The scheduled meeting was erased, the plans scattered. He walked towards the student lounge, hoping for some kind of solace.
