He felt a vague sense of unease as he looked at the name tag she had left on her desk. “Lila Thompson.” The name itself wasn't unfamiliar. But the handwriting… It was disturbingly familiar, somehow. He reached for his old camp t-shirt, the one he had unearthed from the attic just last week.

He remembered the endless hours of canoeing, the thrill of the talent show, and the echoing laughter of the late-night ghost stories. Lila. It felt like a buried memory, a half-forgotten dream.

The next day, as Lila bustled into the break room, he watched her. She was a whirlwind of energy, chattering away about the morning's meeting. He was struck by an inexplicable feeling of uncertainty. Her movements, her laugh, even the way she sipped her coffee… all seemed to resonate with something deep within him.

"You look… familiar," he blurted out, the words escaping before he could stop them.
