A tightening in Thomas's chest accompanied the curt knock on his door. He opened it to find Mrs. Gable, face pinched, holding a printout from his drone club’s website. “The buzzing, young man. The constant buzzing.” Her voice, normally a friendly warble, was now sharp. He blinked, completely at a loss. He’d flown his drone only once this week, and the club meetings were held miles away, in the park. His mouth went dry, and he swallowed hard. He stammered, “But… I thought…” He trailed off, suddenly unsure of his own actions.
