Gemotions

The silence in the attic was thick, broken only by the flutter of a moth trapped against the dusty window. He’d found it in a box labelled “old drafts.” The handwritten pages, yellowed with age, chronicled her life, hers and Liam’s. The protagonist, "Isabelle," was a thinly veiled version of her. He felt a prickly heat rise in his cheeks. He slowly closed the box. Why had she not said anything? It felt as if he was missing something important. He slowly walked down the wooden stairs, feeling as though he was walking on the ceiling.
