The sun was scorching, and beads of sweat formed on my forehead. My neighbor, Sarah, had approached me while I was trying to repair the fence. She had always been very friendly, but today her words seemed…out of sync with reality. I’d spent years perfecting my lawn, cultivating a vibrant, green expanse. Now, she wanted to plant a garden, right next to my prized petunias. My hands instinctively clenched the wrench.
