Gemotions

The phone felt heavy in David’s hand. He pressed the phone to his ear, his fingers fumbling with the buttons. He needed to talk to someone. He dialed his sister’s number again, praying she'd answer this time. He was alone with the latest drawing of "Sparkle," his childhood companion, and the unsettling details were starting to take root in his mind.

David imagined Sparkle’s pointed ears, the way the colours in the drawing seemed to shift and change. He remembered Sparkle's silent laughter that seemed to echo in empty rooms.

The phone rang and rang, but his sister was not answering. He could feel sweat beading on his forehead, a cold wave washing over him. The air seemed to grow thick with an invisible presence, and a sense of unease was starting to take hold.
