The book lay open on the kitchen table, a stark white rectangle amidst the morning chaos. Sarah stared at the cover, her name emblazoned in gold lettering. *Sarah Chen: A Life Unveiled.* She’d never agreed to this. Her hands, suddenly clammy, reached for the mug of lukewarm coffee, the ceramic strangely heavy. The words on the page blurred. She could feel a strange pressure building behind her eyes.

The author, a woman she vaguely recalled meeting at a conference years ago, had somehow gained access to her journals, her emails, everything. A cold dread seeped into her bones as she flipped through the pages, recognizing snippets of her most private thoughts, her insecurities laid bare. Her stomach lurched.

She needed air. Abandoning her coffee, she stumbled towards the back door, the sunlight outside seeming harsh and unforgiving. The grass, normally a comforting green, appeared alien and unsettling.
