Marcus felt the heat rise in his face. His sister's play was tonight, her debut in a major production. He'd bragged about being there, promised her support. Now, the airport staff was telling him it could be hours. He leaned against the wall, head in hands.

He swallowed hard, trying to keep the panic at bay. His stomach felt like it was twisting into knots. He needed to stay composed, needed to find a solution. But the information monitor on the wall wasn’t helping at all.

Marcus looked up at the clock, each passing second amplified in its importance. The minutes seemed to crawl by at a snail’s pace. He felt a surge of adrenaline, and then a wave of exhaustion. He needed a plan, and he needed it now.
