The room felt small, the air thick. Jack had been hunting for his old baseball glove, but he found it wedged between boxes of papers. He began to leaf through the files, each page bringing a fresh wave of…something. A feeling like the world was spinning.

A drawing of a house, complete with a stick-figure family, caught his eye. He stared at it, a strange sense of detachment washing over him. He felt a desire to escape, to leave everything behind.
