Gemotions

The world seemed to shrink, the walls of the small apartment closing in. She felt a tremor in her hands as she scrolled through the website. Images from her past, raw and unfiltered, were now public property.

She gripped the edge of the kitchen counter, her knuckles white. A strange hollowness had invaded her chest, an absence she couldn't name. Her breathing quickened, shallow and rapid.

She reached for a glass of water, spilling half of it on the counter. The sticky mess seemed a fitting metaphor for the mess her life now felt like. Her gaze darted around the room, as if expecting to be watched.
