He stared at the mirror, the reflection offering no answers. Mark’s hands, usually steady and strong, trembled as he attempted to tie his tie, the knot coming undone with each try. His breath hitched in his throat. He’d always imagined himself in the starting line-up, the weight of the team's expectation on his shoulders. He felt that weight now, but it was crushing him, not lifting him. He could almost hear the cheers of the crowd, the thud of the ball, but he was on the outside looking in.
