The air was thick with unspoken words. The revelation of her son’s secret social media account hung between them, a silent accusation. She watched him, studying his expression, but his face was an impenetrable mask.

She felt a hollowness in her chest, a physical ache. The comfortable routine of their evening, the shared dinner, the casual conversation, now felt impossible. Her hands fidgeted with the napkin on the table.
