Gemotions

The concert hall was packed. He'd been a child, so certain of their connection, and now, standing in the foyer, he could barely breathe. He had spotted her by the bar.

He had walked towards her, unsure of himself. “Clara? Remember me, Ben?”

She had looked at him, her expression a mix of polite curiosity and…nothing. “I’m afraid not.”

The music started, loud and vibrant, but he could only hear the pounding in his ears. The crowd swirled around him, a meaningless blur of faces. He felt the need to leave. He fled the concert hall.
