The park was teeming with life: children laughing, dogs barking. Then a busker started playing his song, “The Forgotten Path.” Mark stood frozen. He was used to busking. He played it himself. This was… someone else.

His head swam. He felt a sudden, dizzying sensation, like the ground was tilting beneath him. The busker’s voice was untrained, the guitar slightly out of tune. But the crowd loved it.

He wanted to scream, to run over and tell them this was *his* song. Instead, he just stood there, watching, the blood draining from his face. He watched the crowd give the busker tips, and his jaw locked. He felt a strange tingling in his fingers.
