A chill snaked up Mark's spine as he stared at the photograph. He’d always heard his grandfather's stories of hardship and struggle. The photos, however, depicted a life of luxury, of leisure. He was pictured on yachts, in expensive suits, and surrounded by beautiful women.

He ran a hand through his hair, a knot forming in his stomach. The carefully constructed facade of his family history felt like it was crumbling around him.

He dropped the album onto the table, the sound echoing in the silent room. He felt a profound sense of disorientation, a deep betrayal. The world around him seemed to shift and blur.
