Gemotions

The afternoon light cast long shadows across the office, and everything seemed to take on a strange, surreal quality. When Chris had asked, "Did you ever do Camp Willow?" it was the casualness that unnerved him the most. He had managed to reply with a noncommittal "Maybe."

He couldn't sit still. He paced the small area of his cubicle, running his hands through his hair. He needed to change the situation, but he had no idea how.

He thought of calling in sick, but knew that the excuse would crumble under the slightest scrutiny. He forced himself to sit down, and try to focus on his work.
