The lunch break was an ordeal. The cafeteria was filled with noise and a smell of hot food that made her stomach churn. When Kevin had asked about "Camp Meadow," a memory, previously locked away, threatened to erupt.

She kept her head down, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Her usual appetite was gone. She only picked at her salad, watching the other people.

Every small sound seemed magnified. Each conversation felt like a direct assault. She couldn't wait to go back to her small, quiet apartment.
