The university’s email felt like a bomb blast. It had landed right in the middle of Liam's already stressed life. His part-time job was barely keeping him afloat, and now this. He was due to graduate in the spring!

He grabbed his phone, scrolling through it aimlessly, unable to focus on anything. He needed to tell someone. He texted his best friend, then immediately deleted the text. Then sent another, then deleted it again, his thumb hovering over the "send" button. The digital world seemed as unstable as his inner one.

He went to the campus quad, finding it hard to breathe, and sat on the cold stone steps, watching other students walk by, not knowing what to do.
