The news had hit him like a physical blow, stealing the air from his lungs. He sat in the park, the vibrant colors of the autumn leaves a stark contrast to his inner turmoil. The doctor's words echoed in his mind, "You are not alone." It was both comforting and terrifying.

He watched a young couple laughing on a nearby bench. He felt a pang of longing, a sudden recognition of the fragility of existence. He pulled out his phone, his fingers fumbling as he tapped the screen.

Suddenly, he felt a presence beside him. He looked up, startled. A woman stood there, her gaze fixed on the same bench, the same couple. She was clutching a small, worn book. He realized, with a jolt, that she was the other one.
