Her heart hammered against her ribs. The condo notice was a betrayal. She had just gotten used to her place.

She felt a sudden, almost overwhelming urge to flee. She grabbed her purse, her keys, and her phone, heading for the front door, just as soon as she processed what it all meant.

She needed to get out, away from the four walls that suddenly felt like a cage. She needed to breathe, to think, to escape. She found herself outside, staring back at the facade, a building she no longer fully recognized.
