Sarah closed the book, *Sarah: Beyond the Surface*, and pushed it away from her. The action felt violent, an act of defiance. She was sitting in her sunroom, surrounded by plants that she'd nurtured for years. The room usually offered her peace; now, it felt contaminated.

She stared out the window at the vibrant green of her garden. She had built this life, brick by brick. Now, someone had come along and tried to rewrite it. She felt a deep sense of frustration, a resentment she couldn’t quite articulate.

She ran her hand over her face. She felt a tremor in her fingers. The book portrayed her accurately, yet it felt as though the author had misunderstood everything. She felt the tears welling up in her eyes.
