Gemotions

The rain hammered against the windows, a relentless rhythm that echoed the pounding in her chest. She stood at the window, watching the storm rage, the wind whipping the trees into a frenzy. The phone calls had started to make her feel like she had been punched. The accusations, the denial… the end.

She had just had an argument with him. She started crying, and found herself wanting to leave. She felt a sharp, stabbing pain and ran to the bathroom, and then, she was sick. She stood in front of the sink, watching her own reflection.

She felt something crack inside her. She stared at the shattered pieces of herself, unable to gather the strength to begin piecing them back together. She walked to the bedroom, and picked up a bag. She went to the front door, and left.
