Gemotions

He paced the confines of his small apartment, the hardwood floor creaking under his weight. He felt a deep, uncomfortable pressure in his chest, a squeezing sensation that made it difficult to breathe. The published diary, his teenage secrets laid bare for the world, haunted him. It felt like someone had peeled back the layers of his skin, exposing him to the harsh glare of judgment.

He stopped in front of the window, peering out at the city lights twinkling below. The noise of traffic, the distant sirens, all seemed to amplify the silence inside him. He remembered the feeling of writing, the freedom of it. Now, it was a burden.

He ran a hand through his hair, the familiar gesture doing little to soothe the turmoil. He imagined the whispers, the snickers. He didn't want to leave his apartment, not yet, not ever. The world was a threat now.
