Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah sat, paralyzed, staring at the publication announcement. The musical composition she'd meticulously crafted, published under another name. The paper felt like a lead weight in her hands.

A deep sigh escaped her lips. The world seemed to fade around her. All the late nights, the creative struggle, the emotional investment, all for nothing. The emptiness inside was vast. A burning sensation in her throat made swallowing difficult.

She felt a need to disappear, to vanish and leave behind the person who made that betrayal. Slowly, she stood, her legs shaky. She turned and walked toward the piano, the keys beckoning, but she hesitated.
