Arthur rarely allowed himself to be caught off guard. He planned every aspect of his life, from his meticulously organized filing cabinets to his weekly grocery lists. But today, the universe, it seemed, had other plans.

He found it, or rather, *he* found it. There, nestled amidst a pile of discarded toys, was Mr. Snuggles. He must have forgotten about him. He hadn’t thought about him in years, but now… The world around him seemed to blur.

He examined the bear, the worn patches, the slightly lopsided grin. A strange heat blossomed in his chest, a feeling he couldn't quite name. He paid for the bear, his hand shaking slightly as he pulled out the crumpled bills. He went home and set Mr. Snuggles on his bed.
