“Well, this is…” she trailed off, unable to find the right word. Astonishing? Disturbing? Fascinating? All of the above, perhaps. She touched the cold, metallic doorknob again, then pushed the door further open. The hidden room seemed to hum with a silent energy.

She had always been a wanderer, a seeker of the unseen. Had this house, in its own way, chosen her?

The room was not decorated, not furnished. Just bare brick and the lingering scent of something… missed. She felt an echo of those feelings inside, too. The room seemed a mirror of her feelings, and she wanted to *study* them.
