The bookstore was Emily's sanctuary. She often came to browse the shelves, seeking refuge from the relentless pressures of her career. Tonight, she chose a well-loved copy of *Jane Eyre*.

A receipt, dated twenty years ago, fell out from the pages. It detailed a purchase of flowers and a box of chocolates. Scribbled on the back, in an elegant script: “Happy anniversary. I love you more than words.” The sentiment, the era, the unspoken story behind it; it all struck a chord.
