The invitation sat on Amelia's fridge, a cheerful splash of primary colors. Sarah’s party. Miniature golf, a taco bar, and a DJ. Amelia sighed, tracing the bubbly lettering with her fingertip. It felt like an eternity ago they’d planned to celebrate their birthdays together, a joint bash. Now, two separate parties, planned for the same day. It was a stupid misunderstanding that had turned into a feud, and she couldn't explain how much she missed Sarah.

The morning sun sliced through the blinds, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Amelia pulled the covers over her head, wishing she could rewind the clock. She'd spent hours choosing a venue, a cozy bookstore with vintage cocktails. It felt silly, now.
