The coffee cup felt heavy in her hand, the warmth failing to reach the chill that had settled deep in her bones. She leaned against the filing cabinet, watching the office bustle. Everyone else seemed so… efficient. So sure.

She ran a thumb along the rim of the cup, a small circle, again and again. She had always been quiet, the steady hand, the reliable one. Was it enough?
