Gemotions

The glow of the computer screen illuminated my face in the dark room, and I closed my eyes as my work saved. My creation. My program. My everything. I thought of the late nights, the sacrifices. The ambition.

A colleague knocked on my door. He held a flash drive. He looked… uncomfortable. He confessed that we had somehow worked on the same project. He looked genuinely upset.

I felt the blood drain from my face. I couldn't speak, but my head nodded. The ache was familiar, like a ghost inside my bones.
