Gemotions

She sat on the floor, the carnations scattered around her. They were everywhere. The room was now filled with the sweet scent of the flowers. There was no trace of who sent them.

She wrapped her arms around her knees, her gaze fixed on the blossoms. Her mind was a whirlwind of memories, each one fading and then returning. She felt adrift in a sea of unspoken emotions.

She longed for connection, for someone to reach out. She picked up a bloom and held it to her face, closing her eyes. It seemed so fragile. The room was getting hotter, although it was cold outside. She felt a knot forming in her stomach.
