Gemotions

The sunflowers, a blaze of yellow, sat on her kitchen counter. She had been staring at them for an hour, her head throbbing. It was a beautiful bouquet. She found herself trying to picture the scene of the purchase.

She walked from room to room, touching things as she went. She paused in the living room, picking up a framed photograph. She wanted to understand the message within the flowers.

She was suddenly restless. She couldn't focus. She felt an overwhelming sense of incompleteness. She wished the flowers could speak, or that she could read their thoughts.
