From the moment Coach Miller tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Jacob, we need you in the backfield," Jacob felt a lightness in his chest. Running back had always felt like a grind. Now, as a safety, he felt the expanse of the field stretch out before him, a tapestry of possibilities.
