"I feel… good!" Maya exclaimed aloud to herself, swinging her arms as she skipped across the quad. The world felt bright and new. Even the prospect of the daunting essay felt manageable. She practically vibrated with anticipation. Then, the email. The subject line: "Regarding Academic Misconduct."

Her hands stopped mid-air. She walked inside and sat down in front of her computer, suddenly exhausted. The accusations were harsh, the evidence seemingly irrefutable. Her breath hitched. She began to sweat, despite the air conditioning.
