The news had broken, the fallout immediate. David, his private thoughts plastered across the internet, felt… liberated. He'd spent years living in fear of judgment, of exposing his true self. Now, the mask was gone. He walked outside, the sun warm on his face, the air smelling of freshly cut grass.

He sat on the porch, a sketchbook in his lap, and started to draw. The images flowed easily from his mind to the page. It was like he'd been holding his breath for a long time. There was an ease to the day he hadn't experienced in years.
